A Medicare supplement is policy plan similar to many other health care plans except for one crucial difference. It helps to pay for some of the health care costs that original Medicare does not cover, such as copayments, coinsurance, and deductibles and it only covers one individual person. If you and your spouse were both in need of this plan then you would need separate policy plans for each person.
Medicare supplements plans offer the ability to cover some payments for services that original Medicare does not such as medical care when you happen to be traveling outside of the United States. Although not all plans offer this, it is something to keep in mind if you are a frequent traveler and something to make sure to make mention of when consulting with your insurance company of choice.
